Pandit Mami (Colby, Class of 2014) thought he was prepared for his trip home to Freetown, Sierra Leone. He’d been there two years earlier, for his mother’s funeral, weeks after his graduation from Colby. The Ebola virus had begun to spread across the West African country, but she died of latent diabetes amidst the outbreak. Now, in 2016, with the outbreak over, he witnessed not recovery and healing, but his entire community still deeply troubled and broken.

Davis UWC Scholars Create Projects for Peace Video

Ringling College of Art + Design students Elio Alonso Vasquez Miranda '17 (UWC Red Cross Nordic) and Andres Broennimann '18 (UWC Costa Rica) created a video highlighting the relevance of the Davis UWC Scholars Program. Traveling to several countries interviewing UWC graduates, their goal was to highlight the world about the exceptionality of the scholars and the worldwide UWC schools.
